Realism and Prudence in Foreign Policy

Authenticity is a way to deal with universal relations that has grown continuously through crafted by various political experts who have based themselves inside, and in this way have not surpassed a trademark however yet arranged methodology or ordinary assessment. Authenticity centers around worldwide political provokes inferable from singular attributes and absence of all inclusive watchdog.Advertising We will compose a custom article test on Realism and Prudence in Foreign Policy explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More These two components make worldwide relations essentially a circle of intensity and premiums (Griffiths 2009, p. 13). Singular attributes have not changed since days of yore. As per the pragmatists, people are as yet egotistical, and along these lines inalienably slanted towards debauchery. Machiavelli clarifies that in the realm of governmental issues, people will in general be improper and will consistently discover articulation for danger engraved in their cerebrums whenever opportunity strikes (Griffiths 2009, p. 14; Donnelly 2000, p. 17). As it were, pragmatists focus on rude interests and the calamitous nearness of fiendishness in worldwide governmental issues. Since these interests can not be killed, clashes are will undoubtedly end at any point in the near future (Donnelly 2000, p. 26). Despite the fact that pragmatists have differ in certain zones, they all concur that people are rudely enthusiastic and this energy is the base of every single political test in the globe. The new political administrations are planned for checking this side of human instinct. Locally, human instinct is ordinarily directed by various leveled political force and constitution (Donnelly 2000, p. 26). In the worldwide front, political turmoil allows as well as advances the insidious side of human instinct. Accordingly, the clamorous idea of national legislative issues and the rude idea of people require a general guard dog (Griffiths 2009, p. 17). Pragmatist thinks about the structure of worldwide framework as crucial in keeping up universal relations. As indicated by traditional pragmatists, nonappearance of focal capacity to determine debates is the purpose for the present security predicament. They likewise contend that total impact of activities by state and none-state on-screen characters can have extensive effect past national fringes (Waltz 1979, p. 3).Advertising Looking for exposition on universal relations? Get your first paper with 15% OFF Learn More Classical pragmatists contend that long for power which is more established in individuals is the motivation behind why most nations are battling to upgrade their abilities. Hence, the nonattendance of worldwide guard dog is an accommodative condition for state on-screen characters to work without restriction (Waltz 1979, p. 4). As such, old style pragmatists likewise clarify self absorbed nature of individuals which is the reason for some worldwide issues. Accordingly, various worldwide clashes are credited to forceful conduct of state on-screen characters or neighborhood political frameworks that give chance to biased pioneers to seek after egotistical expansionist approaches in the worldwide field. To put it plainly, old style pragmatists contend that worldwide governmental issues is loaded with indecency since strategies overseeing global relations are made by awful individuals (Griffiths 2009, p. 20). As indicated by neo-pragmatists the structure of the worldwide framework contains two angles: absence of in general power implies disordered situation, and the selfish idea of people implies all nations are practically the equivalent. One of the contrasts between neo-authenticity and old style authenticity is in the embodiment and premise of state needs. Furthermore, in contrast to old style pragmatists, neo-pragmatists just spotlight on worldwide situation. Neo-pragmatists express that nation s will do what they need to do to make due in the current serious and anarchic condition. Then again, states can pick to seek after specific standards since they are invaluable or in light of the fact that they are as of now disguised locally (Donnelly 2000, p. 32). Neo-pragmatists clarify that universal frameworks are described by comparable outcomes given their likeness in structure. As expressed before, neo-pragmatists will in general disregard nearby conditions which are clearly extraordinary (Griffiths 2009, p. 17). There are different strands of political authenticity right now, for example, rise and fall authenticity, neo-old style authenticity, and basic authenticity (protective and hostile auxiliary authenticity). They all view worldwide relations regarding unending and unavoidable clashes. Rise and fall pragmatists clarify that rules and practices of worldwide framework are dictated by the most impressive state.Advertising We will compose a custom paper test on Realism and Prudence in Foreign Policy explicitly for you for just $16.05 $11/page Learn More Since the most remarkable state collects most advantages, other driving states will consistently attempt to discover approaches to get the chance to top position. Given the little hole between the main state and other amazing states, the contention between them typically end up in some type of contention (Donnelly 2000, p. 38). Then again, neoclassical pragmatists stress that state activities are typically determined by residential inclinations. Neoclassical pragmatists clarify that frequencies that are being seen in the worldwide political field are for the most part affected by residential structures, foundations, convictions, and desires. Most international strategies will in general be upsetting or ruthless. The most acclaimed record of neoclassical authenticity is the parity of intrigue hypothesis which expresses that most pioneers are spurred by force and extravagance. In this way, international strategies are about force and individual interests (Mearsheimer 2001, p. 6). Protective auxiliary authenticity is an improved variant of neo-authenticity. The most noticeable rendition of guarded basic authenticity is the parity of danger hypothesis. As indicated by parity of danger hypothesis, nations will in general ensure themselves through territorial or worldwide coalitions. The conduct of these states is impacted by the apparent danger and the intensity of the state or none-state on-screen character presenting danger (Donnelly 2000, p. 45). Then again, hostile auxiliary authenticity varies with cautious basic authenticity regarding the matter of enemy’s power. Rather than depending on local or worldwide collusions, hostile auxiliary authenticity energizes securing of more force by an individual state for hostile explanation. Hostile basic authenticity focuses on that when a nation gets more force than others, it can without much of a stretch secure itself and not depe nd on outer powers/coalitions. Such powers are essential to handle crisis cases or where territorial unions are missing (Mearsheimer 2001, p. 8). End Realism centers around worldwide political difficulties brought about by singular qualities and absence of worldwide guard dog. These two components make worldwide relations fundamentally a circle of intensity and interests. From the various strands of authenticity investigated in the examination, activities of most states/state on-screen characters are shameless (particularly those that are driven by ravenousness of intensity and enthusiasm to the detriment of others) while some are supported (cautious measures).Advertising Searching for exposition on worldwide relations? Patterns of Recommended Vaccines Among British Pilgrims - 7150 Words

Use of Health Belief Model to Explain Uptake Patterns of Recommended Vaccines among British Pilgrims to the Hajj 2015 (Thesis Proposal Sample) Content: Use of Health Belief Model to Explain Uptake Patterns of Recommended Vaccines among British Pilgrims to the Hajj 2015NameInstitutionAbstractThe Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is a deeply spiritual journey undertaken by all physically and financially capable Muslims at least once in a lifetime. Hajj brings more that 1.5 million pilgrims from more than 180 countries and territories into a confined place. Consequently, public health authorities worldwide consider the Hajj as serious challenge to public health. Respiratory viruses have been a threat to public health during the Hajj. In some cases, outbreaks of respiratory infections with high mortalities have been reported just before the Hajj. To prevent the spread of respiratory infections, Saudi government requires that all pilgrims receive a set of mandatory vaccines, and recommends another set. Despite their potential to prevent developing the infections, recommended vaccines have low uptake among pilgrims, with the rates going as low as 0.7% among study populations. To date, there has been no study that has examined the uptake of recommended vaccines, including reasons for refusal, among British pilgrims using a mixed methods approach and the health belief model. The proposed study, therefore, is intended to examine, using both surveys and interviews, the dynamics involved in the uptake of recommended vaccines. The aim is to find out the role of health beliefs (perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefits, and perceived benefits), modifying factors, and cues to action in the uptake of recommended vaccines. Health beliefs will be examined in relation in to two relatively recent fatal outbreaks, the pandemic H1N1 and MERS-CoV. It is also noted that when there are outbreaks of severe and fatal respiratory infections such the pandemic H1N1 and MERS-CoV, Saudi public health officials advice at-risk pilgrims to voluntarily postpone performing the Hajj. However, few heed this advice. The study will, therefore, as a secondary objective, investigate the reasons why at-risk pilgrims do not postpone the Hajj.Table of Contents TOC \o "1-3" \h \z \u HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178646" Abstract PAGEREF _Toc412178646 \h ii HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178647" Introduction PAGEREF _Toc412178647 \h 1 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178648" Background PAGEREF _Toc412178648 \h 1 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178649" Statement of the Research Problem PAGEREF _Toc412178649 \h 2 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178650" Study Aims and Objectives PAGEREF _Toc412178650 \h 2 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178651" Study Questions PAGEREF _Toc412178651 \h 3 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178652" Brief Literature Review PAGEREF _Toc412178652 \h 4 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178653" Uptake Rates of Recommended Vaccines PAGEREF _Toc412178653 \h 4 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178654" Factors Affecting Uptake of Recommended Vaccines PAGEREF _Toc412178654 \h 5 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178655" Gender and Age PAGEREF _Toc412178655 \h 5 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178656" Safety Concerns PAGEREF _Toc412178656 \h 5 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178657" Perceptions of Severity and Vulnerability PAGEREF _Toc412178657 \h 6 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178658" Health Status PAGEREF _Toc412178658 \h 6 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178659" Availability and Accessibility of Vaccines PAGEREF _Toc412178659 \h 7 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178660" Role of the Media and Hajj Handlers PAGEREF _Toc412178660 \h 7 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178661" Knowledge of the Disease PAGEREF _Toc412178661 \h 8 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178662" Proposed Work PAGEREF _Toc412178662 \h 9 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178663" Study Design PAGEREF _Toc412178663 \h 9 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178664" Methods PAGEREF _Toc412178664 \h 9 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178665" Quantitative Phase PAGEREF _Toc412178665 \h 9 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178666" Qualitative Phase PAGEREF _Toc412178666 \h 10 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178667" Setting PAGEREF _Toc412178667 \h 10 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178668" Population and Sample PAGEREF _Toc412178668 \h 10 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178669" Data Collection PAGEREF _Toc412178669 \h 10 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178670" Data Analysis PAGEREF _Toc412178670 \h 11 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178671" Ethical Considerations PAGEREF _Toc412178671 \h 12 HYPERLINK \l "_Toc412178672" Theoretical/Conceptual Model PAGEREF _Toc412178672 \h 12 IntroductionBackgroundThe Hajj pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, is a deeply spiritual journey undertaken by all physically and financially capable Muslims at least once in a lifetime (Ebrahim et al., 2009). It is the largest mass gathering in the world which draws millions of Muslims from around the world (Shuman, 2013). A total of 1,496,531 pilgrims (1,379,531foreign; a decrease of 21% from 2012) arrived for the 2013 Hajj from 188 countries (Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, 2013). Intense crowding at the Hajj sites, shared accommodation, and polluted environment provide ecology for transmission of MERS-CoV (Gautret et al., 2009; Khan et al., 2013; Memish et al., 2013; Omrani et al., 2013; Rashid et al., 2013). Public health authorities in Saudi Arabia and elsewhere in the world consider Hajj as a global public health security challenge, especially for pilgrims at risk of infections (Al-Tawfiq Memish, 2014; Ebrahim et al., 2009; Gautret et al., 2009). People at risk normally include elderly people aged over 65 years of age, people with chronic diseases such as heart, kidney, and respiratory diseases, and diabetes (Ebrahim et al., 2009; Mangtani, Mak, Pfeifer, 2009). Others at risk are pregnant women, children under 12 years old, and people with underlying immunosuppressive disorders (Guery et al., 2013; Mangtani et al., 2009). Hajj-related exportation of communicable diseases by returning pilgrims could bring about outbreak o f infections worldwide (Ebrahim et al., 2009; Khan et al., 2009; Khan et al., 2013). Resource-limited countries are mainly vulnerable because they have limited capabilities to develop effective surveillance systems for returning pilgrims and respond to disease outbreak (Khan et al., 2009).A human coronavirus, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome coronavirus (MERS-CoV) was first reported in September 2012 (Al-Tawfiq Memish, 2014; Memish, Al-Tawfiq, Al-Rabeeah, 2013; Rabiah, 2013). MERS-CoV belongs to the coronavirus family, Coronaviridae family. This is a group of large, enveloped single-stranded RNA viruses associated with several infections in mammal and avian population (Rabiah, 2013). There were 90 laboratory confirmed cases of MERS-CoV as of July 12, 2013 worldwide, but almost 80% of the cases were in Saudi Arabia (Assiri et al., 2013; Khan et al., 2013). As of June 3, 2014, there were reported 688 MERS-COV infection and 282 mortalities (Gardner MacIntyre, 2014). As a result of t he high mortality rates associated with MERS-CoV in the Middle East and Europe, development of effective vaccines was considered as crucial (Ma et al., 2014). Vaccines were considered as essential in preventing the spread of MERS-COV and possible future pandemic. Researchers have reported promising results on the possibility of developing MERS-CoV vaccine (Ma et al., 2014).Respiratory viruses are increasingly becoming a threat to public health security worldwide and have been associated with substantial morbidity, mortality, and economic consequences (Guery et al., 2013; Khan et al., 2013; Omrani et al., 2013; Rabiah, 2013). As a result, vaccines have been developed to prevent the spread of infections during mass gatherings such as the Hajj. In some circumstances, the Saudi public health authorities advice at risk individuals to postpone performing the Hajj. For instance, in light of the potential for the 2013 Hajj to facilitate transmission of MERS-CoV cases, the Saudi Ministry of Health (MOH) advised potential pilgrims at risk of MERS-CoV to voluntarily postpone doing the Hajj (Memish et al., 2013; Memish, Zuma, Al-Tawfiq, 2013). Most of at risk pilgrims from Western Europe did not heed to the advice by Saudi MOH (Gautret et al., 2013). Similarly, prior to the 2009 Hajj, there was an outbreak of H1N1 influenza and to mitigate the spread, the Saudi MOH, in consultation with global public authorities, advised at risk individuals to voluntarily refrain from doing the 2009 Hajj (Memish et al., 2009), but they did not heed the advice (Ebrahim et al., 2009; Gautret et al., 2010; Gautret et al., 2011).Researchers have investigated the uptake of recommended vaccines within their study populations. Study populations in Hajj-related research studies have been either Hajj pilgrims or Saudi health care professionals engaged during the Hajj. Previous studies on the uptake of vaccines have focused on influenza vaccine, pneumocaccal, diphtheria and bacillus Calmette-Gueri n vaccines (Alqahtani et al., 2014). Most studies on the rate of vaccine uptake have been conducted on influenza vaccines. The rates of vaccine uptake are greatly different among different populations. Alqahtani and colleagues found that 29 of the 42 studies they reviewed reported uptake of influenza vaccines among Hajj pilgrims (Alqahtani et al., 2014). They found that rate of seasonal influenza uptake among study populations ranged between 0.7% and 100%, with the rates being higher among at risk patients (Alqahtani et al., 2014). Few studies have investigated the reasons behind the low uptake rates from the perspective from prevention. Statement of the Research ProblemThe uptake rate of recommended vaccines is low among Hajj pilgrims, including British Hajj pilgrims (Rashid et al., 2008). For instance, influenza vaccination rate for t...

Cognitive Group Therapy Essay - 1300 Words

Cognitive therapy is one of the few theories that have been extensively scientifically tested and found to be highly effective in over 300 clinical trials. It focuses on the immediate or automatic thoughts the client has and how these thoughts affect their feelings and behaviors. The goal of cognitive therapy is to identify these thoughts that are poorly affecting the client. Then teach the client how to identify these automatic thoughts and how they can effectively change them. Through the very structured sessions of cognitive therapy, a client should essentially learn the tools to be their own cognitive therapist for future problems they may encounter. Since schemas often start in childhood, the thought process of the client may reflect early errors in reasoning. This contributes to clients developing cogni tive distortions. There are many common cognitive distortions that include mind reading, catastrophizing, overgeneralization, negative prediction, and many more. If these distortions are frequently used than it is possible that someone will develop a psychological disorder such as depression or anxiety. The relationship between therapist and client is collaborative and caring. Goals are set by the client with the help of the therapist. The therapy is very goal-orientated and specific. They then work together to assess and then change faulty beliefs that interfere with accomplishing these set goals. The basic goal is to remove biases or distortions that hinder the client from functioning effectively. Changing cognitive schemas can be done in three different ways; reinterpretation, modification, and restructuring. Constant assessment of the clients’ problems and cognitions is very important in evaluating if techniques are being effective. Often in the beginning there is an exte nsive interview process that can last several hours. This interview gives the therapist insight into the client’s past, what the current problems are, and client goals. Limitations of the study -Unfortunatly, all research papers have a limitation to their studies. Some of the limits I may come across is, lack of information, lack of respectable and trusted articles or books. These two will be my biggest concern when writing this paper. The way I plan to try and overcome this obstacle is by gathering all the information I have before hand, and understand the limitations I may occur before I begin writing my paper. This way, I will know my limits while writing my paper and not overstep my boundaries. Another limitation may be that in some aspects of my research, I may lack the knowledge of something or may come across a part in my research or writing where I am stuck. I can overcome this by consulting with my professor for help. Review of literature -Some of the information and literature I will be using is books, scholarly articles and the internet as well as my own knowledge. I will try and manage my information in-between the books and the scholarly articles. I will use the internet, but preferably as least as possible. For the most part, I will refer to my books for most of the information and any scholarly opinions will refer to articles from well respected political scientists. The internet will also provide adequate information, but in some cases the information may be questionable since many resources and internet pages have false factual information. Methodology -I will analyze the methods that I will be using in writing this research paper. .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 , .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .postImageUrl , .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 , .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:hover , .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:visited , .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:active { border:0!important; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:active , .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068 .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u94e2977a895dddb14f4661bf41971068:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Was Socrates Wise About God?
